The Gang of Four are [[Erich Gamma]], [[Richard Helm]], [[Ralph Johnson]], and [[John Vlissides]]. They are the authors of the famous software engineering book: '''[[Gang Of Four 1995|Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software]]''' Interestingly, the term '''Gang of Four''' originally describes 4 members of the Communist Party in China, who came to prominence during the Cultural Revolution (1966-76) and were afterwards charged with a series of treasonous crimes.
