I wonder why the GoF decided to include this pattern as a design pattern. It just seems like it is very specific to a particular domain so it seems more like an analysis pattern to me. - Agreed. It is very specific, maybe this was one of the areas they thought patterns applied most to and thus decided to add it. --AlexGee
- I agree, though having said that, the GoF never claimed all of there patterns were applicable across domains (horizontal). And interpreter could be used for parsing stuff in a whole heap of domains... --Matthew Harward 04:29, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
