I think the description of this smell ignores [[Tell, don't ask]]:  "... you can always ask another object to get that piece of data for you".  It also suggests as a refactoring technique that you could "get the data required for a parameter by requesting it from an object you already know about".  I don't think this would be a good idea; it would increase coupling.  --[[User:Aidan Bebbington|Aidan]] 23:20, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
