What is Blackjack?

Blackjack is a game played in casinos all around the world. This game offers the highest odds out of all the games at the casino. What I hope to be able to do is find the best way to beat the system, or the worst way for the system to beat me.

The above picture is not my game. Nick has commented that the breasts look fake.

This is a snapshot of another Blackjack game running. The Dealer can be seen as the computer animated figure at the top of the screen. The DealersHand can be seen in front of them. Please note that this is an American game and initally the Dealer has two Cards including a face down one. This was not implemented in my design. The Shoe can be seen at the top right of the screen. The `PlayersHand` can be seen in the foreground. The boxes can be seen below the PlayersHands. Everything is seen on the Table.

How Blackjack is played:

Chch Rules:

The Dealer deals a card to everyone face up including themselves. The dealer then goes on to deal another card to the other players. Currently all Players have two and a Dealer has one card. The Dealer then iterates through each Player asking if they want to hit, split,double or stand. The Dealer will move onto the next player only after the current one has stood or has busted (gone past the magic 21). The dealer then gives himself cards. The dealer must stand if they are on 17 or more. This includes a soft hand.

This cycle continues until the Dealer has dealt the ShuffleCard. This indicates the end of the shoe and time to reshuffle the cards. The shoe is the collection of cards that are still to be dealt. Chch casino uses 6 packs of cards in their shoe, and the `ShuffleCard` to tell the end of the shoe.

The player who was dealt the ShuffleCard is meant to cut the shoe with it after the dealer has shuffled. After the dealer has cut the cards he replaces the black card ~52-104 cards in the shoe. In my design I have the Dealer cut the Shoe with the ShuffleCard

Picture cards(K,Q,J) and 10 all have the same value: 10. An Ace can either be a 1 or an 11. It is dynamically changed to give you the best result. So if you had an Ace and an 8 (19) and you hit and get a K, you stay on 19.

To hit is to ask for another card.

To split is when you have two cards of the same value in your hand and your hand size is 2. This splits your hand into two giving you two hands of one card.

To double is to place twice as much money on the table and you can receive 1 card only but may only be taken when you have two cards.

To stand is to not take anymore cards.

A soft hand is a hand that contains an ace in it with the ace counting as an 11 not a 1.

A Blackjack is an K,Q,J or 10 and an Ace.

If a dealer shows an ace as their first card then they offer insurance. Insurance is half of your bet. If the dealer gets blackjack then they pay the insurance bets 2:1.

Most hands pay 1:1, blackjack pays 3:2. Normal hand betting 10 -> 20, blackjack 10 -> 25
